Movies, videos with profanities should not be shown on NCN too early

Dear  Editor,
I have observed for some time now and moreso recently the somewhat frequent showing of movies and video musicals with foul words on NCN Linden, at hours when I think they ought not to be presented for all sundry to consume.

I suspect one reason for this is that these movies/songs are not properly evaluated or are randomly or carelessly selected, since whenever this occurs, within minutes they are taken off because of someone calling in.

Our community like almost every other, already has more than its fair share of obscene practices, while a plethora of X rated movies and musical videos flood homes through various means – in some cases unknown to parents – consuming and twisting the minds of the very young.

But this is utterly unacceptable and unprofessional for a national communications entity, and every effort should always be made to prevent such occurrences. By the way, I have been told before about managers here openly saying that they neither have an interest in nor pay attention to the news/programmes that are televised! Sad as this is, if it is true, it still behoves them to be overtly mindful of what is transmitted and at what time.

Yours faithfully,
Frank Fyffe
