Shamshudin, Lashley among winners at Dask 15th anniversary golf tourney

Esau Shamshudin and Mark Lashley won their respective flights while Christine Sukhram recorded the best net among the female players when the Dask Enterprise 15th anniversary Medal Play golf tournament was contested  Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course.

In the Lusignan Golf Club’s (LGC) 2010 season opener played in excellent weather, Shamshudin recorded a net score of 67 from a gross 81 playing with a 14 handicap to win the 0-18 flight.

He won on a countback from Mighty Raja who also recorded net 67 from a gross 80 playing with a 13 handicap.

Third position went to David Harry whose net score was 68 from gross of 80 playing with a 14 handicap.

Lashley came out victorious in the 19-36 flight with a net 68 from gross 93 playing off a 25 handicap with Ayube Ali securing the second position with a net 74 from a gross 95 playing with a 21 handicap.

Third place winner was Albert Semple who recorded a net 79 from a gross 107 playing with a 28 handicap.

Mohanlall Dinanauth (1handicap) recorded the best gross of 75.

Sukhram (7 handicap) won the ladies title with a net 73 from a gross 80.

Albert Russell won the Nearest to the Pin.

Jerome Khan, Managing Director of Dask Enterprise said that his company was pleased to sponsor the tournament for another year and made a commitment to sponsoring the event annually.

Khan, who is also captain of the LGC, presented a $100,000 cheque to Club President Mel Sankies.

He disclosed that several overseas companies have given commitments to sponsoring tournaments with the first being set for next weekend.

LGC vice president Shamshudin expressed gratitude to Khan and his wife for their continued support to the Club.
