Roshandins set new GMR&SC endurance race record of 121 laps

In winning the pair set a new record for the event doing 121 laps one more than the previous benchmark, in a time of three hours.

Twenty four cars started the race but only 11 were able to endure the heat on the Timehri track and complete the event.

The pair of Clint Seebaran and Selwyn ‘Bunny’ Persaud completed 113 laps which earned them a second place finish while third place went to team Harold Hopkinson and Gavin Gouveia who drove 109 laps.

Saeed Hassan and Harold Veerasammy (108 laps) was fourth and David and Navindra Mangar (108 laps) rounded off the top five finishers over-all.

President of the GMR&SC Aaron Bethune described the event as a success adding that it sets the tone for the start of the motor racing season on March 28.

1st Place: – Shahab and Shiraz Roshandin (121) (1st overall)
2nd Place: – Harold Hopkinson and Gavin Gouveia (109) (3rd Overall)
3rd Place: – David and Navindra Mangar (108)

Group B    1601 to 2000 CC:
1st Place: – Clint Seebaran and Selwyn ‘Bunny’ Persaud (113) (2nd Overall)
2nd Place: – Saeed Hassan and Harold Veerasammy. (108)
13rd Place: – Marcel profit and Jason Gonsalves (104)

Group C    2000cc and above:

1st Place: – Shane Seebaran and Vishaul Shaw.  (89)
2nd Place: – Balwant Persaud and Steven Lorimer. (67)
3rd Place: – Danny Persaud and Anil Persaud (35)
