Persaud in fourth position

Guyana’s Avinash Persaud occupied the fourth position after the first day’s play of the Ansa Mc Al Trinidad and Tobago Open Amateur Golf Championships at the St. Andrews’s Golf Course in Moka.

Persaud, sponsored by Universal Sports, carded a 75 to trail leader Deryck Gonsalves, 72, and Carlos Baines of Tobago and Adrian Norford of St Kitts who each carded 73.

Gonsalves, the 2003 Open champ, fired a level par 72, including two-under 34 on the back nine, and is a shot ahead of six-time T&T Open winner Baynes, the veteran who is seeking to tie the record for the most Open wins (7).
