Haier Cup gets cracking today

The competition is being sponsored by Queensway and a representative of that company will be at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground, Queenstown at 10.45 am to witness the first ball being bowled.

There will also be a presentation of shirts to the Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association by the sponsor’s representative.

In Zone-A, Malteenoes Sports Club will oppose Police at the Malteenoes ground with the umpires being Ernest Hinds and Matthew Kissoon.

At the Police Sports Club ground, Everest Cricket Club will oppose Diplomats Cricket Club with Linden Matthews and Clyde Layne the officials.

And, at the Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) ground, Transport Sports Club will oppose Ace Warriors with     Daniel Richmond and Cyril Garnath the men in charge.

In Zone-B home team the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) will oppose the DCC with Eddie Nicholls and Heuvel Cunha officiating while Vikings/M.Y.O will take on G.C.C at DCC with Hortense Isaacs and Ian Duncan the officials.

And, at the University of Guyana ground, the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport will oppose the university team with Mario Nichols and Randolph Rose the officials.

In the final match of the group Third Class will oppose the Guyana Defence Force at Camp Ayanganna with the umpires being Robin Kendall and Shannon Crawford.
