At a press conference held yesterday on the lawns of Namilco’s Agricola headquarters, the company’s Finance Controller Autamaram Lakeram handed over four goal posts and 3 netballs to GNA Secretary, Lawrence Griffith.

During the simple ceremony, Namilco’s Marketing Consultant Affeeze Khan said that the company was pleased to give back to the society. Khan noted that while this was the business’ first donation to the GNA it was not the company’s first donation to sports in the country.

“Namilco has played a very important role in sports in Guyana, not only in netball but other disciplines…as well,” Khan stated.

In response President of the GNA, Dr Maxine Parris-Aaron commended Namilco on their unhesitant support. She explained that earlier this year she had spoken to Khan about GNA’s shortage of equipment and told him that the Association was soliciting companies to support its ventures. Khan told her to send a formal letter of request to the company, to which the company immediately replied. Parris-Aaron assured the company’s officials that the equipment will be put to full use and said that this will go a far way in promoting netball.
