Mahaica Determinators and Bakewell Buxton Stars were the first two teams to record victories in the second round of the East Coast Mackeson Premiere League.

Ann’s Grove suffered a 1 – 0 loss to Mahaica and Buxton Stars got past BV/Triumph FC 2 – 1 in another encounter.

At the Beterverwagting ground Mahaica was able to needle Ann’s Grove, compliments of the first minute goal scored by Colin Peters.

In the other match Neville Gulliver scored in the first minute for Buxton Stars then Shawn Daniels doubled the lead in the 60th minute.

When it was all but over for BV, an own goal by Buxton’s Malcolm Wilson in the 80th minute gave the opposition some hope of finding the equalizer but that effort went in vain.
