Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport Alfred King was expected to be returned as president of the Guyana Football Referees Council at yesterday’s Annual General Meeting at the Carifesta Sports Complex.
While King was a clear cut choice for another term, junior vice president Colin ‘BL’ Aaron and secretary Jan Obermuller who are both overseas were set to be replaced while senior vice president Lawrence “Sparrow” Griffith had indicated that he will not be seeking re-election.
The posts of assistant secretary/treasurer and three committee members were also to be contested at the meeting.
