Banks Light Beer 10/10 tapeball winners receive prizes

Cultural Centre Tarmac XI, winners of the recent Banks Light Beer 10/10 tapeball cricket competition received their prizes at a simple ceremony at Banks DIH head office at Thirst Park yesterday.

Banks Light Beer Brand Manager, Brian Choo-Hen hands over the cheque and trophy to Culture Centre tarmac skipper Calvin Burnett.

The Cultural Centre team carted off  a  trophy and $100,000 cash prize following their victory by 50 runs over Ministry of Housing in last Sunday’s final played at the National Park tarmac.

Ministry of Housing received a cheque for $50,000 for placing second.

The tournament organized by Guyana Tapeball League attracted 20 teams including Enmore Warriors, Vipers, Jeawan Reality, Guyana Fire Service, Post Office Corporation and Courts Inc.

Banks Light Beer Brand Manager Brian Choo Hen said that Banks DIH continues to assist the development of sports in Guyana.

Choo Hen said he was pleased with the turnout of teams and their response to the new beverage on the market.

The sponsorship was in excess of $200,000 the official disclosed.

Culture Centre Tarmac captain Calvin Burnett received the prizes in the presence of several teammates and Banks DIH Special Events manager Mortimer Stewart and Communications Manager Troy Peters.
