Lower Corentyne, West Berbice Clash in BCB/NCN final today

The rural Village of Edinburgh will host the first ever Berbice Cricket Board/National Communications Network under-15 inter-zone final today.

Lower Corentyne and West Berbice will contest the 50-overs-a-side match which gets underway at 9am at the Edinburgh Cricket Ground.

Lower Corentyne, led by national Under-15 captain Shawn Pereira, boasts a powerful batting line up which includes national players Parmanand Narine and Shailendra Shameer along with Nazrudeen Bux, Arif Chan and Nicholas Cameron.

Fast bowlers Manoj Looknauth and Ryan Mootoo will share the new ball with support from leg-spinners Pereira and Avinash Wajid, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai and off spinners Shameer and Chan.

The West Berbice squad will be led by national player Quacy Mc Pherson who is expected to lead from the front with the bat. Support is expected from Royston Wade, Remion Mitchell, Derek Narine, Homchand Persaud and Parmanand Ramdan.

Fast bowlers Dillon Joseph, Thomas Mc Donald and Grisean Grant will spearhead the bowling department for West Berbice with support from spinners Derek Narine, Wade and Nick Ramsaroop.

Chief Executive Officer of NCN, Mohamed Sattaur and Regional Co-ordinator for Berbice Fazal Jaffarally are expected to meet the teams before the start of the game.
