NAMILCO stages seventh annual CARICOM Day Cycle Race

The National Milling Company of Guyana Inc. (NAMILCO) presented the prizes for their seventh annual CARICOM  Day `Wheat Up` 70 miles cycle road race to the organizers of the race, Roraima Bikers Club yesterday.

The race which will run off on July 5 will feature four categories –  Seniors, Juniors, Veterans and Mountain Bikes.

The event begins at 08:00 hrs in front of the  Two Brothers gas station, Eccles, and will proceed along the East Bank Road to Long Creek on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway and return to Eccles for the finish.

Meanwhile, the Veterans will turn back at the junction of the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.

Prizes in the form of cash, trophies and medals will be presented to the winners and other top performers at a presentation ceremony in the NAMILCO compound immediately following the race. Cash prizes will be presented to the first six finishers in the Senior category and the first three finishers in the Junior, Veterans and Mountain Bikes category.

Trophies will also be awarded to the winner in each category while medals will be presented to all cyclists who participate in the meet.

All clubs that are affiliated to the Guyana Cycling Federation – Roraima Bikers Club, Carlton Wheelers, Continental Cycle Club,  Kaieteur Cycle Club, Flying Stars Cycle Club,  Flying Ace Cycle Club,  and Linden Bauxite Flyers Cycle Club – are invited to participate in the event.
