Younger Bravo returns to A-Team

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua,  CMC – Darren Bravo will boost the West Indies A-Team for their upcoming three-nation limited-overs series with the England Lions and India-A.

The West Indies Cricket Board announced yesterday that the left-handed batsman will fly out to Britain later to join Devon Smith’s squad for the series, which includes four preliminary matches for the Caribbean side, and a fifth if they reach the Final.

But he will not arrive in time for the A-Team’s opening match in the limited-overs competition against the Indian reserves today at Northampton.

The 21-year-old Bravo is the younger brother of West Indies senior team vice captain and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

He flew home last month from the A-Team squad, which toured Bangladesh, and played in the last three of the five One-day Internationals against the visiting South Africans.

The younger Bravo was also picked in the senior team squad for the three-Test series against South Africa, but he failed to make the cut in each match.
West Indies-A squad: Devon Smith (captain), David Bernard (vice captain), Omar Phillips, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Kevin Stoute, Assad Fudadin, Kirk Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Imran Khan, Anthony Martin, Andre Russell, Gavin Tonge, Lionel Baker, Chadwick Walton.
