Two major golf tournaments billed for CARICOM weekend

Two major golf tournaments will highlight CARICOM weekend at the Lusignan Golf Club with players showcasing their talent today and Monday.

The annual Sanjay’s Jewelry Medal Play tournament billed for today will attract close to 35 golfers who will battle for attractive prizes.

According to Club Captain Patrick Prashad, prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best net scores.

There will also be a prize for Nearest to the Pin at hole number 8.

Managing Director of Sanjay’s Jewelry, Bishnarine Persaud has been invited to present the prizes to the outstanding players.

The players expected to be in action include  teenage sensation Avinda Kishore, Boolram Deo, Colin Ming, Brian Hackett, Patrick Prashad, Dr. Ram Singh, Clifford Reis, Mark Lashley, William Walker, Ian Gouveia, Albert Semple, Muntaz Hanif, Mike Mangal, Lester Alvis, Mike Guyadin, Melissa Humphrey, Christine Sukhram, Mel Sankies, Mohanlall Dinanauth, Gavin Todd, Carlos Adams and Ronald Bulkan.

Assemble time is at 12:15 hours with a shotgun start scheduled at 12:30 hours.

On July 5, CARICOM Day, the recently installed executive committee will stage a 10-hole Cross Country tournament starting at 09:00 hours.

Prashad who designed the course said that players can uplift a diagram with the layout at the clubhouse.
