Heat sign free-agent guard Miller

MIAMI, (Reuters) – Former Washington Wizards guard Mike Miller has joined an already top-rated class of newcomers  with the Miami Heat, the team said yesterday.

Miller, a free agent with 10 years of NBA experience, has signed a five-year deal with the Heat, local media reported. He joins All-Star newcomers LeBron James and Chris Bosh on a team that has re-signed Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem.

“We consider him to be the finest perimeter shooter in the  NBA,” Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement released by  the team.

“But also he is a multi-faceted player who can rebound,  handle the ball and make plays,” Riley added. “We expect big  things from him.”

Miller led the Wizards in three-pointers last season and  averaged 10.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 54 games.
