Fitzgerald impresses at Darts tournament

Sudesh Fitzgerald outplayed his opponents to claim the top spot at the recent Mark Persaud and SunFlower Hotel jointly-sponsored tournament hosted at Mark’s Darts Club, 72 Brummel Place, on Sunday.

In the Draw Doubles, Fitzgerald partnered with Ravi Budhu from East Bank to edge out the team of Mark Persaud and Anil Lachman.

The pair then went on to upset Colin France and Anthony Bissiondyal in the semi-finals.

In the final they defeated the pair of Norman Madhoo and Kenneth Gouveia easily.

In the Open Singles, Fitzgerald won comfortably against his Better Hope club mates Nicholas Seetaram and Devanand Singh before overcoming Madhoo in the 3–2 in the final.

At the conclusion of the tournament the top performers were awarded cash incentives and trophies by veteran player, Clarence Walcott.
