NSC ‘Teach Them Young’ 11-race Programme

Walter Grant-Stuart swept to victory in the feature 35-lap Schoolboys and Novices race as the National Sports Commission ‘Teach Them Young’ annual summer programme concluded yesterday with an 11-race programme around the outer circuit of the National Park.

Grant-Stuart completed the event in one hour, 23  minutes and one second (1:23:01s).

The participants of this year’s Teach Them Young Programme conducted by national cycling coach Hassan Mohammed along with prize winners of yesterday’s 11-race cycling event.

Second place went to Marlon `Fishy’ Williams with Robin Persaud, third.
Mark Lewis, Lear Nunes and Eric Sankar occupied the next three places.
Virgil Jones outsprinted Turhan Harris and Kennard Lovell in the Under-50 veterans’ five-lap race while Kirkwood Kellman reigned supreme in the Over-50 five-lap Upright event with Monty Parris and Courtney Thomas finished second and third respectively.

National junior cyclist Christopher Holder won the Juveniles 10-lap event  ahead of Paul De Nobrega and Kurt La Rose.

In other results, in the 12-14 Open (3 laps): – Marica Dick finished ahead of Naomi Singh and Ricardo Sharma respectively.

In the five laps Upright event, Mario King won from Ozia McAuley and Nigel Jacobs respectively while in the BMX 6-9 years-old one lap race,  Nicholas D’Andrade won from Keon Harris  and Rashidi Ceres.

In the BMX 9-12 years old two-lap event,  Adrian Sharma took the top spot from, Jermaine Beckles  and  Deeraj Garbarran while in the BMX Open two-  laps event the winner was Shaquel Agard with Darius Ramsammy, second, and Randy Haynes, third.

In the BMX 12-14 year-old two lap event, Shaquel Agard won from Darius Ramsammy  and Adrian Sharma.
