Little Shivani Persaud yesterday ruled the 12-years-and-under category of the Popeye’s Novices/Intermediate lawn tennis tournament which commenced yesterday at the National park.
Persaud won all 12 of her matches while Judah Stephney duplicated Persaud’s performance in the 18-years-and-under intermediate category.
Playing three rounds of round robin matches, Persaud won against Dequan Allen, Ryanna Bentick, Lindon Lewis, and Heimraj Resaul.
Second place in the 12-years-and-under category went to Resaul, while Lewis placed third.
And, in the 18-years-and-under intermediate division, Alexander Brassington placed second with Maria Brassington, third.
The tournament will continue today at the same venue
and persons are still invited to register to take part in today’s events. The tournament will begin at 10.00am.
