O’Neil keeps belt, Camacho upset

(Fightnews) World International Boxing Association (WIBA) Women’s International Heavyweight Champion Gwendolyn O’Neil (16-6-1, 7 KOs) successfully defended her title against Crystal Davis (4-3-0, 3 KOs) at the Night of the Champions at the Skatium in Fort Myers, Florida on Saturday.

The WIBA champion O’Neil easily handled the much younger and less experienced challenger Davis, winning via decision.
Felix “Showtime” Camacho (20-6-0, 7 KOs), the younger brother of Hector “Macho” Camacho and former World Boxing Federation world champion found the road back to be a difficult one. In a surprise upset, a game Adrian Perez (6-2-1, 1 KO), from Sarasota, out-pointed “Showtime” in the six round contest.
Camacho had been inactive for over nine years and with this loss, may be headed back into retirement.

Fort Myer’s own Willis brothers were successful in their bouts this as well, both bouncing back from losses in their last bout. The elder brother, Quinton Willis (6-1-1, 3 KOs) won a close majority decision over Ashantie Hendrickson (2-9-1, 0 KOs). Scores for the bout were 38-37 twice and 38-38. The younger Willis, Marcus (5-1-2, 2 KOs) won an easy unanimous decision victory over Jamond Bourgeois, New Orleans (2-1-0, 1 KO).

In other action, Fort Myer’s JC Peterson (0-8-0) continued his winless streak, losing by majority decision to debuting Nyantu Bolo. Not to be outdone, debut Justin Goodall, from Cape Coral, won via TKO in the third over fellow debut Ivan Rodriguez. Cesar Cisneros (2-1-0, 1 KO) defeated debut Armando Guirola of Naples, FL by TKO in the fourth. Daniel Lozano (6-0-0, 5 KOs) of Bowling Green, FL, remained undefeated, defeating Ivan Moxey (2-1-0, 1 KO) by TKO in the fourth.
