In making the presentation, Mc Donald encouraged the cyclist to do himself and his country proud.

“I am quite happy to be assisting such a great athlete who has done very well for Guyana throughout the Caribbean and has the potential to bring more glory to his homeland at these games in India,” says young Mc Donald who also pointed out that it was the first occasion that he was assisting a cyclist after previously supporting other disciplines in the few months his business has been opened.

Williams, who will compete in the Time Trials and the 90-mile road race, expressed confidence in doing well.

“I would like to say thank you to Fitness Express and Mr. Mc Donald for supporting me in my quest to excel at the Commonwealth Games. I want to assure you that I will make all Guyanese proud at these games.”

The other members of the cycling team are Alonzo Greaves, Geron Williams and Enzo Matthews. The team is expected to leave Guyana on September 28.
