Georgetown level series in NY

After a gripping game one which Linden won 69-68, the overseas-based Guyanese players in New York once again clashed in their friendly series.
This time however, the shoe was on the other foot for the Lindeners as Georgetown defeated them 69-62 to force a game three in the series.

The script was the same as game one as Georgetown fell behind Linden 9-15 before bouncing back after a timeout to close the first half with a 10-2 run.

Georgetown led 38-33 at half-time.
In the second half Georgetown extended their lead to 59-40 before the Linden team took advantage of a number of turnovers to stage a dramatic 15-0 run.

But the run failed to change Linden’s fortunes as Georgetown held on for the seven-point win.
Ashford Johnson led Georgetown with 20 points while rising star Marlon Thornton had 14 points and five rebounds.
Wilfred Branche had 10 points, 18 rebounds and 3 block shots.

Linden’s Rockcliff Joseph had a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds while Laurel Bobb and Oldey Alleyne had 10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 block shots each.

Branche was declared the MVP.
The friendly series championship game for the coveted year-long bragging rights now shift to Queens, New York for the decisive game on October 3.
