Krsikal Persaud takes the lead

Two time national men’s Open chess champion
Kriskal Persaud is in the lead after four completed rounds of the National Closed Chess tournament which commenced Saturdaty at the Ocean Spray Hotel.

Persaud has three and onbe half points  from three wins and one draw.
Persaud defeated Ron Motilall, Frankie Farley and David Khan, who has a 1386 FIDE (World Chess Federation) rating and drew his third round match against Taffin Khan (1727).

David Khan occupies the second position with three points from wins against Ryan Singh (1456), Learie Webster and Errol Tiwari.

Taffin Khan follows on two and one half points  after defeating Tiwari in round two and Motilall in round four. He lost his opening game to Webster.
Webster and Frankie Farley have two points a piece. Webster outclassed Tiwari in round four for his second win while Farley gathered both his wins on Sunday in matches against Motilall and Singh.

Singh has 1.5 points, after defeating Webster in round three, his second round match against Motilall ended in a draw. Tiwari stands with only one point and Motilall has half a point.

Matches continue tomorrow from 5:30pm at the same venue.
