Berbice cricket gets photocopier boost

The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) continued its assistance to the development of cricket in the ancient county of Berbice with a donation of a Desktop Photocopier/Fax Machine/Phone System valued $120,000 to the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB).

Newly elected Assistant Secretary of the RHTY&SC, Nermala Sewdat, who made the presentation on behalf of the club’s teams, stated that the club was totally dedicated toward the development of cricket in Berbice.

She noted that during this year alone, the RHTY&SC used its influence with sponsors and rose close to $5M in cash and kind for the BCB apart from sponsoring several programmes/projects and co-producing the Board’s Annual Magazine and DVD Coaching Cassette.

Sewdat performing her first act as Asst Secretary expressed the hope that the donation would assist the BCB to fulfill its mandate and assured the Board of the club’s continued assistance in the future.

BCB Secretary, Angela Haniff accepted the donation and expressed gratitude to the RHTY&SC and its different cricket teams for their continued investment into the development of the game. She added that the donation would assist the work of the Board a great deal especially its public relations and called on other clubs and Non Governmental Organisations in Berbice to follow in the footsteps of the RHTY&SC and join forces with the Board to continue the ongoing progress.
