Miss Guyana runner-up for Miss India Worldwide pageant

Twenty-two-year-old Lucria Rambalak, who copped the second runner-up position in the Miss Guyana Universe pageant last year, has been selected by the Miss India Worldwide Organi-sation as Guyana’s delegate to the Miss India Worldwide Pageant in South Africa.

According to a press release from representatives of the beauty, who is currently a student at the University of Guyana, majoring in Computer Science, she has been in the public eye since childhood in various art forms. These include drama, dance and modeling, while she has “perfected” the art of dance and is a key member of APSARA dance group, which produces a cross-cultural dance production annually and produces a magazine by the same name.

In the release Lucria is said to be establishing herself as one of Guyana’s leading models as she has worked with established outlets and modelled the outfits of well known designers.

Last year was the first time Lucria participated in a pageant and she not only copped the third spot but also the Miss Photogenic and People’s Choice awards at the Miss Guyana Universe pageant.

The release said the Miss India Worldwide pageant is dubbed the most glamorous Indian function in the world and is attended by many celebrities from the Bollywood and Hollywood film industries.

The contest will be held in Durban, South Africa on March 27th.

It is organised by the Indian Festival Committee (IFC), which has been conducting Indian beauty pageants in the USA and around the world since 1980. The IFC selects distinguished local organisations in various parts of the world to select representatives to take part in the worldwide competition.
