Nagamootoo grabs five-wicket haul in Trinidad

Former West Indies and Guyana leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo grabbed a five-wicket haul as matches in the top flight of Trinidad and Tobago’s cricket continued over the weekend.

Playing for Moosai Sports against Clarke Road in the Eastern Credit Union Premier League, Nagamootoo took 5/93 but the Alescon Comets still rattled up 293 all out. Moosai Sports reached 20 without loss in reply but rain spoilt the encounter.
Nagamootoo’s Guyanese counterpart Homchand Pooran was also in great form scoring

116 for First Citizens Clarke Road United. His effort enabled Clarke Road to reach 300. Guyanese national Trevon Garraway, bowling for Central Sports took 4/66. Central Sports reached 41 without loss in reply.

In the South Zonal Council, Guyanese players continued to write the headlines, as Paul Bevaugn the mainstay of Debe Youth Foundation, scored a  magnificent 142. Fellow Guyanese Chris Ramdeen joined in the fun getting an unbeaten 65 as Debe Youth Foundation scored 309 for five declared. X-Men in reply was bowled out for 140 with Ramdeen taking 3/45.
