Swan ganja farm found

The police conducted a drug eradication operation at Swan, Soesdyke/Linden  Highway on Saturday.

A release from the police yesterday said that a field of about one acre in size with marijuana plants between four feet and eight feet in height and a nursery containing over 500 seedlings were found and destroyed.

The police also searched three houses during which an unlicensed 12 gauge single-barrel shotgun with two matching cartridges and 44.5 kilograms of dried cannabis sativa (marijuana) were found.

Three men and two females have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations, the release said.
