Mother of one denies unlawful wounding charge

A mother of one yesterday appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful wounding.

It is alleged that on December 28, 2010, Finola Trim, stabbed Jason Hinds, a man she once shared a relationship with. The defendant was represented by Attorney-at-Law Mark Waldron. According to the facts of the case, the prosecutor told the court that on the day in question the two had an argument which resulted in a scuffle. The 38-year-old woman then stabbed the virtual complainant (VC) to the upper left of his chest. Hinds was taken to the hospital and the defendant was arrested. The defendant who is a cosmetologist was placed on $10,000 station bail on January 2.

The prosecutor had no objection to bail but asked that  it be in a substantial amount. The woman was placed on $100,000 bail and the matter was transferred to Court 6 for January 21.
