Vendor denies stealing jeans from boutique

Ray Edinborough, accused of stealing a pair of jeans from a city boutique, was yesterday charged with simple larceny when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It was alleged that on January 26, at Robb Street, Edinborough, of 45 West Ruimveldt, stole a pair of ladies jeans worth $6,500, from Colours Boutique.
Edinborough, a vendor, told the court that he did not steal anything and he was accused wrongfully by the store’s guard when he was leaving. No representative from Colours was present at court.

Magistrate Sewnarine-Beharry granted the accused bail in the sum of $10,000 and transferred the matter to Court Three for report and fixture on January 31.
