Designer Trevor Rose fined for abusive language to wife’s relative

Designer Trevor Rose was today fined for using abusive language to a woman and a charge that he assaulted his estranged wife, Michelle Cole, was dismissed after she declined to testify.

Cole told the court of acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry that she did not want to offer evidence against Rose.

Rose had denied that on January 20 at Georgetown he assaulted Cole to cause her actual bodily harm.

The defendant who resides at 377 East Street, Georgetown also denied that on the said day he made use of threatening language to Cole.

He however accepted the January 20 charge which said that he made use of abusive language to Olga Cole.

Magistrate Sewnarine-Beharry dismissed the charges levelled against him by his former wife. Meanwhile, he was fined $10,000 or ordered to serve two weeks imprisonment for making use of abusive language to Olga Cole.
