NewMont finds more gold in Suriname

(De Ware Tijd) Gold multinational NewMont has found an extra 1.8 million troy ounce in gold in the Cassador-location in the vicinity of the most important mining location Merian in the Nassau Mountains. This means that the company has amply exceeded its minimum target of 3 million troy ounces to establish a profitable gold mine. The announcement that NewMont wants to start mining the gold in collaborations with concession owner Alcoa comes at the eve of the start of the negotiations with the government.
