Education ministry launches website

The Ministry of Education has launched a new website that aims to provide critical information for parents, teachers and students.

In a press release, the ministry said the site provides news and views on education, information on schools, policies and on various departments within the ministry. Though it is still in the process of uploading vital information onto the site, soon videos of complete lessons in Mathematics and English for CXC students and completed past Mathematics and Sciences subject papers will be posted.

The website will also host links to the Caribbean Examination Council, the Pan American Health Organisation, the University of Guyana, UNICEF and the National Centre for Education Resource Development.

Links to the National Accreditation Council, the TVET Council and the Connecting Classrooms programme will soon be added.

The ministry said curriculum guides for both primary and secondary schools have already been uploaded and it plans to turn the website into a virtual classroom to enhance learning.

The website is located at www.education.gov.gy
