Jamaica to decide CCJ position by June

(BBC) Jamaica’s Prime Minister Bruce Golding says his government will be meeting with the main opposition party to determine, by June this year, the country’s final position on the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

Mr Golding was responding to criticism of his suggestion of the possibility of Jamaica having its own final appellate court.

The outgoing CCJ President, Michael de la Bastide and the opposition People’s National Party were among those who took the prime minister to task over the statement.
