Guard loses hand

Jaipaul Surujpaul, the security guard who was chopped by his co-worker, had to have his right hand amputated three weeks after being attacked.

Surujpaul of 43 Houston, East Bank Demerara had an operation to have his hand amputated earlier this week. The 58-year-old had hoped after having an operation last week, that he would have regained the use of his hand.

On March 5, Surujpaul was attacked by his co-worker. The two had an altercation over a past grievance. Surujpaul’s right wrist was severely damaged and he also chopped in the head and on the left ring finger.
