‘Bolo’ murder accused further remanded

Collis Collinson, who is accused of murdering Linden businessman Albert ‘Bolo’ Joseph during a robbery, was further remanded by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court.

Collinson, of 148 Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with the capital offence as well as two counts of robbery-under-arms. Since all the matters against him are indictable, he is not eligible for bail. He is to return to court on April 20, 2011 for report.

It is alleged that between Monday January 3, 2011 and Friday January 7, 2011, at Sunflower Street, Collinson entered Joseph’s shop and robbed him of $10,000 and a gold chain and then shot him. Joseph later succumbed to his injury.

It was also alleged that on Friday January 7, 2011, the accused, armed with a gun, robbed Rajendra Temaul of $250,000, and Nigel Muss of a gold chain valued $160,000 while at the A&R cosmetics store, at Dageraad Avenue.

Collinson was allegedly identified during an ID parade by witnesses in both incidents.
