The Ministry of Agriculture joins with other entities in the forestry sector in remembering Siew K Chan, CEO of Demerara Timbers Limited (DTL), for his commitment to developing the sector.
In a press release, the ministry, Guyana Forestry Commission, Forest Products Development and Marketing Council (FPDMC) and the Forestry Training Centre said Chan was a “great stalwart” and will always be remembered for his astuteness and wisdom.
Chan, who once held a senior position at Barama Company Limited, was also a member of the Forests Products Association and a director on the FPDMC. He played a major part in transforming DTL and was “always willing to adapt and accept change, if it was in the best interest of the forestry sector” the release noted.
The group extends condolences to his wife and family and offers its support to them during their bereavement.
