Two bandits held a woman at gunpoint and stripped her of her jewellery at Pigeon Island, East Coast Demerara on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the woman was walking along a street when two men on a motorcycle pulled up alongside her. They reportedly asked her for someone and when she indicated that she did not recognise the name, one of the men pulled out a gun and then relieved her of a gold chain and two gold rings. The bandits made good their escape on the motorcycle.
Police are investigating.
