Foulis woman hit by bus succumbs

A Foulis, West Coast Berbice resident died on Thursday night at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), two days after she was struck down by a minibus.

Bibi Nazmoon Ally, 54, was rushed to the Mahaicony Diagnostic Centre and was immediately transferred to the GPH in an ambulance after being hit around 10 am on Tuesday. She died without regaining consciousness.

Her husband, Ramjohn (only name), said she suffered severe injuries to her head, shoulders as well as kidney and other internal organs. She was also bleeding through her ear and mouth.

According to Ramjohn, his wife was walking along the road when a route 63 ‘A’ minibus slammed into her and pinned her to a donkey cart that was in front of her. He said the bus was reversing to pick up a passenger on the road when tragedy struck.
