R&B singer Bobby V to headline ‘Easter Fest’

R&B singer Bobby Wilson, aka Bobby Valentino and Bobby V, will headline a host of talent at the ‘Easter Fest’ concert, slated for Saturday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Dancehall ‘King’ Beenie Man and Grace ‘Spice’ Hamilton, out of Jamaica have also been confirmed for the show along with Patrice Roberts from the HD Band and locals Mahendra Ramkellawan and Terry Gajraj.

At a press conference yesterday, Jermaine La Rose, of New York-based ‘L’ Brothers Entertainment, said that because of the R&B talent and experience Bobby Valentino possesses, he fit the package they wanted to produce. Promoters also revealed that they are looking to promote a hidden local talent but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Promoter Treon Thorne described the event as a rounded package as patrons will be treated to R&B, dancehall, chutney and soca music, all at one show.

This will be the ‘L’ Brothers first local show and La Rose declared that the group is “all about doing a legal, clean and successful event.” It was also mentioned that a strong security team will be provided, as promoters are looking to have a safe event. The security team that managed the Kashif and Shanghai football tournament will be used.

The Jamaican artistes are scheduled to arrive in Guyana today and will be present at a promotional party planned for tonight at the Loft Nightclub, in Georgetown. Ladies will be admitted free to the party up to 10 pm and tickets will cost $1,000 until 11. Once artistes are in the building, the entrance fee will rise. Tickets for the concert will also be given away at the party.

VIP tickets for ‘Easter Fest’ cost $15,000, while general tickets are being sold at $2,000 and will increase by $1,000 on Thursday. Tickets can be uplifted at Georgetown locations such as Nigel’s Supermarket, Exclusive Styles, Courts, American Exchange and Liz A Vous while in Berbice tickets are available at the Candy Shop, Gordon’s Boutique, Evil Eyes, Club Hybrid and all Two Brothers gas stations.

The event is sponsored by Carib, Banks, Courts, TV-G, DDL and Liz A Vous Boutique.
