(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – On Saturday, R.N., who has worked for nearly 20 years as a purser for Surinam Airways/SLM, was caught red-handed trying to smuggle four kilos of cocaine on board the airline’s Airbus A340. The drugs were discovered in his luggage during an inspection. The purser, who was already on board the plane, was arrested by the airport’s special team to combat international drug crime (BID) and handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Squad. Police also arrested the drugs’ provider.
