A 23-year-old West Bank Demerara man was fined $25,000 after he admitted to having in his possession a quantity of cannabis when he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.

Presenting the facts Nauth told the court that on Monday around 11:00hrs, Corporal Wilson was on duty along the One Mile Road at Wismar, Linden when he saw the accused acting in a suspicious manner. He was confronted and searched and the two packets were taken out of his right pants pocket concealed in yellow and pink Ziplock bags.
