At about 1955h yesterday, police said taxi-driver Carlton Jerrick, 50 years of North East La Penitence, Georgetown, was attacked and robbed of his motor car at Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown, by two men whom he had picked up as passengers.

Jerrick had picked up the men at Vlissengen Road and was taking them to D’urban Backlands when he was attacked by the two men who choked him, put him out of the motor car HB 6228, and escaped with the vehicle.

A report was made to the police and patrols were alerted via the radio network. The police said that a quick response led to the motor car being intercepted by a police patrol at Herstelling, EBD, and the two suspects inside were arrested.
