A Ministry of Health release says that due to the increased number of surgical cases in the last month, the Blood Bank is experiencing a severe shortage particularly of Blood Type A Positive, O Positive, A negative and O Negative.
The Minister of Health is requesting regular Blood Donors who are eligible for donation to go into the Blood Bank sites and donate Blood.
In addition it implored new donors to come forward at this time. The blood bank is located in the compound of the Georgetown Public Hospital and can be accessed via the Lamaha Street entrance.
