Agrément received from Brazil for Kellawan Lall

President Bharrat Jagdeo today said that Agrément had been received from Brazil for Kellawan Lall to be Guyana’s new Ambassador to Brasilia.

He was responding to a question  at a press conference  today at the Office of the President.

Agrément had been long in coming from Brasilia. Jagdeo did not offer an explanation for the delay.

Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Roger Luncheon last week confirmed that Brazil was taking longer than usual to respond to the proposed posting of Local Government Minister Lall as Ambassador  saying that the delay was the longest in recent years.

Guyana had submitted the request for Agrément to the Government of Brazil shortly after Minister Lall was named to succeed previous Ambassador to Brazil, Harry Narine Nawbatt just over three months ago.
