Plaisance woman dies from fire injuries

Natasha Johnson, who was severely burnt when her Plaisance home went up in flames on July 4, succumbed to her injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital this morning.

Ingrid Delph, the 22-year-old woman’s mother, told Stabroek News that she received the news of her daughter’s death around 6:30 am.

Meanwhile, Johnson’s spouse, 19-year-old Delon Gordon, who was also burnt in the fire, is said to be recovering.

Reports reaching this newspaper are that the two were involved in an argument and a fire subsequently erupted. From his hospital bed, Gordon stated that the fire was caused by a dysfunctional stove which exploded.
