Jamaicans find cocaine in Surinamese containers

(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – In Jamaica, 65 kilos of cocaine were intercepted that were allegedly from Suriname. On Monday, Jamaican Customs stated that it is the second time in two months that drugs have been found on the ship, the Vega Azurit. According to Customs, the drugs have a street value of 125 million Jamaican dollars or US$ 1.5 million. In March, 112 packs of cocaine were found with a total weight of 112.5 kilos and a street value of US$ 2.5 million. The drugs were found on Friday on the Kingston Wharves during an operation by Jamaican Customs and police. No arrests have been made so far in this case.
