A mason accused of stealing a woman’s gold chain was on Tuesday admitted to bail in the sum of $65,000 when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against Colwin Hardin is that on August 13 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, he stole from the person of Leslyn Parris one gold chain valued $80,000, property of the said Leslyn Paris.
The resident of lot 1A Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown denied the charge of larceny from the person when it was read to him by the magistrate.
No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
The prosecution had no objection to Hardin being granted bail but requested that it be in a substantial sum to ensure he returns to court to stand trial.
Hardin was subsequently admitted to $65,000 bail and ordered to attend Court One on October 25.
