GRA fires two over cocaine in logs container

The Guyana Revenue Authority today announced that two of its officers have been fired over the concealment of cocaine in a container of logs which ended up in Jamaica on March 16th.

It said that another officer was suspended. In a statement today, the GRA said “the decision to terminate the Officers’ service was made after a thorough investigation was conducted by the Internal Affairs Division of the GRA. The investigation revealed that there were severe breaches of several Customs Laws, Policies, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s) and Employees Code of Conduct”.
