Cabinet gives the go-ahead for five contracts

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr Roger Luncheon said Cabinet has

approved contracts in the agriculture, education, security, health and infrastructure sectors.

A Government Information Agency (GINA) press release said a $78.5 million contract was green-lighted in the drainage and irrigation sector for the construction of a sluice at Buxton.

In the education sector a $56.9 million contract was given the go-ahead for the procurement of exercise books for national distribution while in the health sector a US$127,300 contract was green-lighted for the procurement of dental supplies for the ministry’s programme.

In the security sector, a $17.5 million contract was approved for the construction of an indoor theatre at the Guyana Defence Force Jungle and Amphibious Training School at Makouria in Region Three. In the area of infrastructure, a $49.8 million contract was given the go-ahead for the construction of a road at Kaburi, Region Seven.
