Detective Sergeant testifies at PI into setting fire to Supreme Court

The preliminary inquiry (PI) into the matter of setting fire to the Supreme Court for which Colin Jones, Randy Mars, Jafar Simpson, Basil Morgan and Anthony Watson are accused commenced yesterday before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Detective Sergeant Caesar was called to the witness stand by the prosecution to testify.

The allegation against the five defendants is that on November 4, 2009 at Georgetown they set fire to the Supreme Court of Judicature.

The defendants were not required to plead to the indictable charge of setting fire to a building when it was read to them on December 2 last.

The PI continues on October 13 and the defendants remain prisoners.
