Woman stoned husband’s car over school fees -court hears

A woman who allegedly damaged her husband’s car windscreen because he does not want to pay school fees was yesterday placed on self-bail after she appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation is that on September 28, Candacie Jackson unlawfully damaged a car windscreen with license plate number PJJ 8117 belonging to Justin Jackson.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her.

In presenting the facts Prosecutor Lionel Harvey told the court that the VC and the defendant are married and on the day in question the two parties had an argument over the  payment of school fees. He said that the woman picked up two bricks and pelted them at the windscreen of the vehicle.

The woman who resides at Lot 58 Oronoque Street, Bourda, was placed on self-bail by the acting chief magistrate who stressed to the accused that she has to return to court when the matter will be called again.

The matter was adjourned until October for report and fixture.
