Man denies wounding woman in Albouystown

A 34-year-old La Penitence man who allegedly wounded a woman was yesterday placed on $25,000 bail after he appeared before  Magis-trate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation is that on October 17 in Albouystown, Marlon Griffith unlawfully and maliciously wounded Tomika Evans.

The man who resides at Lot 161 Middle Road, La Penitence pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

He also said “she use to come by me house and cuss me…I know her through her mother… me and her mother had a problem so due to that she get a problem with me.”

No facts were presented to the court by the prosecution on what had transpired on the day in question.
The attorney who represented Griffith made an application for his client to be placed on reasonable bail. The application was granted by the magistrate who told the defendant that he was being put on $25,000 bail. The matter was adjourned until October 27 for report and fixture at Court One.
